We took a spontaneous trip to McCormick Ranch Railroad Park.  The model trains were so cool.  We rode the carousel, the train and played indoors with Thomas.

After his nap, Logan played very hard - building, lining up, arranging and watching Ratatouille.

AGAIN!

Lake Arrowhead will be great for the whole family.

July 29 through August 4, 2014

Our first field was to take the boat over to the Village.  Home to any number of kids' activities.  He was marginal on the train, by himself.  Loved the carousel with Mommy and couldn't get enough of the Parmesan cheese at lunch at Woody's.  Yes, just the cheese. 

We fed the ducks till it was time to go home for a nap.

The next field trip to the Village was so Theresa and Luna could water ski.  We had so much fun, we decided to bring Logan back on Sunday morning for a lesson.  MacKenzie Ski School kept saying:  "If he can walk, he can ski!".  We signed him up for a lesson.

With an overnight rainstorm on Saturday, the Sunday morning temperature was 65.  Not only did we cancel Logan's lesson (though we have credit for another time), but we were freezing as we walked around the Village.  Logan got a really cool jacket from Bruce and shirt and slacks from Lori.  And an ice cream cone from Mommy.

We're pretty sure this look means he'll be back.

Lake Arrowhead visit - July 2014

Lorin was going to be in Las Vegas for a few days participating in Basketball Fantasy Camp so we invited Theresa and Logan to join us at the Lake.  Then, Lori was able to come out and join us.  Just what the house was made for - a place to have fun with family.

(Note:  Of course, the plans were a lot more complicated than that.  But after a wonderful visit, who remembers all the different versions?)

I picked Theresa and Logan up at Ontario Airport and drove back to the Lake where they settled in with unpacking and naps.  Bruce was driving over and arrived around 5.  Let the vacation begin.

Bruce and I are always scouting for things that Logan might enjoy.  We had our list.  It was going to be fun seeing our vacation playground through Logan's eyes.

He fell in love with all of our singing animals.  But his favorite was the chick who sings:  "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands, etc."  Logan was delighted because he knew this song - complete with the choreography.  He clapped his hands, stomped his feet and shouted "Hooray!" all through the weekend.

We woke up one morning to see that he was watching "The Incredibles" (BIG Ball!) with his new buddies.

And Thomas and Friends were never far away.

This could be the start of a long relationship.

Toy(s) of the day

As he usually does, Logan brought his current favorite toys.  Today's toy is a stuffed shark and a stuffed dolphin.

Bruce thought Logan might enjoy the sheepskin piece that just arrived.  In fact he loved it.

When Logan rolled over, he remembered his onetime favorite toy - a thingamajig from Uncle Jason.

Naturally, he figured out how to meld all of today's favorite toy into one Favorite Toy experience.

JUMP City

June 24, 2014

We learned our lesson about the days getting too hot to do anything after 10:30 am.  So we were at the door of Jump City - an indoor trampoline space - when it opened at 9 am.  Not only did we miss the heat, but there weren't very many kids.  All that and I found out they had a "grandparents package" that day.  Stay as long as we want for just $10.  Total!

What fun it was.  Wall to wall carpet of trampolines.  Lots of protections around the springs.  Even with the ground.  And lots of spring.

After jumping and running and jumping for 15 minutes, Logan invented a game using all the balls he could find.  This wasn't so easy as it sounds because these were the same balls that the older kids were playing dodge ball with.

Basketball was much more fun when he had someone helping him.

We'll have to remember suspenders for our next trip.

There was even a "padded" room with gymnastics equipment sized for kids.   Logan totally surprised me when I saw that knew just how to use the equipment.

Something tells me today is going to be a long nap day.
